Concerns and Issues
Staff Meetings: o First Friday of every month (mandatory for all committee members) o Meetings are open for anyone to attend. o Would like student and grade group representatives
Scan/swipe policies and responsibilities o Metal detector and scan machine moved closer to the “Front Door”. o School police officer at front door all day
With metal detector on and being used for ALL who enter the building.
“Visitor Pass” from office
Every student and visitor must go through the metal detector and scan.
Any items confiscated must be done at the door.
Kiosk – Who is working the kiosk? NTA or teacher?
If advisory is moved to later in the day then a teacher’s “Duty” period can be to work the kiosk. (Ideal situation)
o Buzzer System
Working on getting a buzzer system installed for the fall
Practice appropriate drills o Shelter in Place”

Working on getting the cameras that we do have up and running for the fall
Looking into installation of new cameras

Hall sweeps o Methods and procedures for a hall sweep need to be made
Schedule monthly hall sweeps
Hall Sweeps can be called as needed

Emergency plans o What is the procedure for when the nurse is not in building? o AED location (defibrillators)
We have 3 AED machines.
They need to be set up in 3 different locations. We would like to purchase AED wall mounts.

Have a blown up copy hanging outside or close to the main office.
Medical o We recommend that each classroom has a basic first aid kit

Parent/guardian physically signs out the student
Students may not sign them selves out.
However parent/guardian may call and provide permission for student to have an early dismissal. (School district policy)
